Vision Statement

The Mountain View Elementary School Library program will prepare students to become literate seekers of information able to thrive in the information age and possess a passion for reading.  Students will have equitable access to resources, effective and relevant instruction as well as safe and welcoming physical and virtual environments conducive to learning, exploring, and sharing.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Mountain View Elementary School Library program is to ensure that all students and staff are lifelong learners who can access, evaluate and ethically use information in both print and non-print formats as well as engage in reading for discovery and personal enjoyment.  The Mountain View Elementary school library works collaboratively to support teaching, learning and research in an intellectually and culturally open environment, uses best practices that converge with student and staff needs to deliver excellent service and provides instruction in the use of traditional and new information technologies that enhance and reinforce the school curriculum, ensuring that students have the knowledge and skills they need to achieve their learning and academic goals.
